I can easily get over 20 minute flights on the Phantom 3, while the Disco averages 10-12 minutes.

The Disco also does not have the flight time that the Phantom does.
#Tbs discovery pro gimbal twitching manual
The Disco Pro can do almost everything the Phantom can, but with considerably more manual intervention and setup required. It pretty much flies itself and the app/controller support all of the available flight modes and camera controls. The Phantom is, as you know, completely plug and play with the controller and iPad app very tightly integrated. I have both a Phantom 3 Professional and a Discovery Pro.
#Tbs discovery pro gimbal twitching upgrade
So want to upgrade to something that I can stick with for a few years. Iv already built a couple of 330 and below sized drones and prefer longer distances aswell as good photo quality and longest flight times. What are the advantages of both these drones? Any help in deciding would be appreciated. I'm thinking of a tbs discovery pro or phantom 4. It is a lot of money for me to put into something I'm nearly completely new to, but I definitely don't have the money for a practice build, and if I'm gonna put in a descent chunk of change I'm gonna go for the best. Are all the components hooked together in a way that it is sort of required to set it up all at the same time? Would I be putting my self at a disadvantage by not following the standard build list?Īlso, I'm still a bit hesitant on this whole thing because I have never built a quad, and not completely confident in my skills. Lets say the first purchase would be everything I would need to get it flying, and the second would be all the FPV gear. It would be my first professional AP quad (I've had a couple micro toy quads) and I tend to go big or go home with these things (my first real balsa build was a scratch-built 100" 4-engine flying boat).Īs the Disco Pro is right at the edge of my budget, I was wondering if it would be at all unwise to purchase it in parts. That was three years ago, and this fall I have finally moved to take the plunge in purchasing this gem. Then the pro came out, and I knew that would be the one.

So I've been lurking around the multi rotor forum for a loooong time, and ever since I found TBS, I've wanted one of their copters.
